Popular Shakespeare Quotes You Might Want To Think Twice About Using This Thanksgiving

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a Shakespeare-related organization in possession of a social media account must be in want of a Shakespeare quote to suit the current occasion.

It is ALSO a truth universally acknowledged that most quotes selected by said organizations are A TINY BIT PROBLEMATIC if you examine the original contexts of them. Don’t fall into these common traps this Thanksgiving!

You can check out my exposé of the “and ever thanks” quote debacle, or a look at some practical Thanksgiving feast-related quotes. Either way, have a great Thanksgiving, regardless of your geographical location!

Foul words is but foul wind, and foul wind is but foul breath, and foul breath is noisome; therefore I will INSIST THAT YOU PULL YOUR MASK UP OVER YOUR NOSE, COME ON, MY GLASSES ARE FOGGING UP TOO BUT SERIOUSLY ONLY SELFISH SOCIOPATHIC NARCISSISTS THINK THAT’S TOO HIGH A PRICE TO PAY FOR LITERALLY SAVING LIVES AND CURBING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC JUST dammit… I’m so tired… just wear your masks properly.

Shakespeare Quotes for Rock Climbers

When I'm not drawing Shakespeare comics or going to the theatre, I am often found at my local rock climbing gym. I love rock climbing, and whenever I love something, I tend to mash it together violently with other things that I love. And so here we have...

I had to tweak a couple pronouns here and there, but otherwise those are all very real and applicable quotes. Try them out the next time you're climbing!

Taking September "Off"

I've got a very busy September coming up, so instead of new comics I'm going to be posting some filler material taken from past social media posts and some of the bonus comics I share with my supporters on Patreon. It will hopefully (a) still be fun for all of you, and (b) allow me to take the time to get the rest of my year's tasks and projects in order without having a nervous breakdown.  Thanks for understanding!

The Good Tickle Shoppe, with all its objectively awesome merchandise, will remain open for business, although orders placed between September 4 and September 11 won't ship until September 12.

I have never dressed up as a chicken, but if I ever do, I know what Shakespeare lines I'm going to be quoting.

In other news, the fifth issue of The Weekly Tickle Brain e-mail newsletter is going out today, and features some fun material related to the recent discovery of a previously unknown copy of Shakespeare's First Folio. Check it and all past issues out here, then sign up below if you haven't already!
