I’m not allowed to climb this route in a tank-top anymore. I’ve still got a scar in my armpit from multiple rope burns in the EXACT SAME SPOT.
Distanced
Young, healthy, active people like climbers might not be at much risk from Covid19, but it’s not about us. I live with some high-risk people, so I’ve stopped going to the gym while the pandemic is in full swing. I really, really miss it, but I’d miss those people more. Be responsible. Don’t only take care of yourself; take care of others too.
Belay Neck
I’m unfairly maligning my partner here, as he’s the one who contributed belay specs to our gear bag.
Baby's First Flapper
We’ve all done it, right? RIGHT??
Excuses
It’s probably not helpful for me to have such a great-sounding excuse in my back pocket…
Epic
Now accepting suggestions for other epic explanations of how I broke my back.
Convenient
NO COMMENT
Everything Is Fine
I’m fine! Everything is fine!
For The Record
I WOULD JUST LIKE TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT I AM A MUCH BETTER CLIMBER THAN EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE CURRENTLY SUGGESTS
Specialist Beta
What with my left hamstring and left finger injuries, I’m getting really good at working out beta that unweights my left side as much as possible. Which probably explains why I’m developing tendonitis in my right forearm….
Taking the next two weeks off! See you in August. Happy crushing.
Better Than Nothing
My climbing partner says the funniest things sometimes.
Bouldering Is Dumb
I love bouldering. I was almost exclusively a boulderer for several years. The problem is…. bouldering really does NOT love me.
Check-Up
Any of my fellow female climbers have this happen to them regularly?
PS - While my bruises are all (accidentally) self-inflicted, domestic violence is no joke. For help, contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline.
Tender Tendons
Shoes? Check. Harness? Check. Chalk bag? Check.
Ridiculous amount of finger tape? .....checkmate.
